Our Response to COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues to be top of mind for many in the U.S. and worldwide, we’d like to share the measures that Vital Tears is taking to ensure the health and well-being of our patients, families, partners, and staff.

Here’s what we are currently doing:

  • Vital Tears will continue to work with labs for blood collection and process orders for serum tears. If patients are symptom-free and are scheduled for a blood draw, they should keep their appointment and they will receive their order, as usual.
  • Our phlebotomy partners and staff have been instructed to take necessary precautions to protect against COVID-19 for patient safety.
  • To protect the health of its staff and partners, Vital Tears will not process orders for patients with confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19.
  • Additionally, our mobile phlebotomy partners will continue blood collection for Vital Tears and will ask patients additional questions regarding their current health and applicable COVID-19 screening questions.


Even in these uncertain times, we remain committed to ensure that all patients suffering from dry eye disease have access to Vital Tears Autologous Serum Eye Drops—safely, quickly and conveniently. We are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and patients who will receive Vital Tears.

The safety of our team is a top priority, and we will continue to evaluate our response and make decisions in the best interest of all as the situation evolves.
